A description of Jesus life on earth.
GOD'S GIFT TO YOU

One clear and bright December morn, God's gift to you His Son was born.
In Bethlehem behind a crowded Inn He came into the world to free you from sin.
Such a tiny thing so fragile and frail,
only the Father knew what his life MUST entail.
Three wise men were told in advance of his birth,
and following the eastern star brought frankincense and myrrh.
There were shepherds guarding their sheep in the night
who came to worship Him lead by an Angel's light.
Mary wrapped him in swaddling cloth, the best she could find.
She knew He was God's promise from the beginning of time.

His home was in Galilee down by the sea
where He watched Joseph and thought, "a carpenter, that's what I'll be."
As the years went by, He was guided by God's hand.
He accomplished amazing things, even as a young man.
He could make carvings of wood just as Joseph did,
and the books of the profits he well understood.
The priests in the temple would smile and exclaim,
'How can he interpret our Books of old so perfectly plain!'
He was only twelve when Mary missed him one day.
They searched all the camps, nowhere was he found.
He was teaching God's word at the temple in town.
Jesus smiled at Joseph and Mary and explained with glee,
"MY FATHER'S BUSINESS I MUST BE ABOUT, DON'T YOU SEE."
From that day Mary knew her time with him was short.
He would go into the world, God's mission to start.
As John The Baptist had preached so bravely and bold.
What the profits foretold was about to unfold.
The covenant of old would no longer hold true.
A Savior had come who would make things brand new.
Since man had proven he can't live without sin,
God had sent His only Son as a sacrifice for men.

Jesus left his home in search for John.
Who baptized Him with water, as a crowd gathered 'round.
His love for mankind had grown so deep,
if a single soul was lost, all of heaven would weep.
He needed more help to spread The Word,
"He was sent by God, to save this wicked world."
Twelve true believers he found along the way.
As His decipels they would witness each day.
He healed the sick and made the blind to see,
caused the dead to rise and calmed the rough sea.
The message he told was so simple and sure,
"JUST BELIEVE IN ME, AND ETERNAL LIFE WILL BE YOURS."
He taught us how to live and was an example so true,
"BE KIND AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER, JUST AS I LOVE YOU.
THE THINGS YOU ASK OF THE FATHER, YOU MUST ASK IN MY NAME,
FOR ON YOUR BEHALF IS THE REASON I CAME.
BELIEVE I AM THE SAVIOR WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART,
AND I'LL BE THERE WAITING WHEN THIS WORLD YOU DEPART."

There were those who thought our Savior a threat.
About Him they even made wagers and bets.
Judas betrayed Him for a purse filled with coins
and Peter denied Him three times before sunrise that morn.
They beat Him, disrobed Him and nailed Him to a cross.
He prayed the day through for the souls that were lost.
Then left alone by the Father, he cried out the truth,
"FATHER FORGIVE THEM, THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO."
It was at that moment our hope for eternal life began.
Jesus bore the burden of each sinful man.
He gave His life and The Father gave his Son.
Jesus' work on earth was now finally done.
They took him from the cross and laid him in a tomb.
After three days He arose, this as an example to you.
If you believe He came to save you from sin,
then you to, once dead will rise up again.

As His time with us on earth had neared it's end,
He told his deciples "ON YOU I WILL DEPEND.
TO CONTINUE MY WORK AND SPREAD MY WORD,
ESTABLISH MY CHURCH IN ALL OF THE WORLD."
He left us then for His heavenly home.
To prepare a place for us all our own.
With Him we will dwell in that place filled with peace.
Surrounded by the Father's comfort, love and grace.
