WDC soundtrackers

It seems like the more I try to respond to this challenge, the more I realize how little I know. I've enjoyed music all my life, but don't seem to know anything about the performers themselves. I ought to know more than this! But, I don't. I'm actually trying not to look like an idiot with my choices, but there's no manual for not looking idiotic, so there you go. I really need to get past this whole insecurity/perfectionism thing. But, I want to be liked. I feel I have to get it right all the time, or people won't like me. I could go on like this, but I'm not here to write about my weaknesses. So, here goes.

I chose Johnny Cash for today. I knew he was around, but I only started listening to his music about ten years ago. I was surprised at how much I liked it. We have a CD of his music somewhere; I bought it for my husband. Johnny Cash is known for songs like I Walk The Line and Ring Of Fire, but my favorite is a departure for Cash. My favorite song is A Boy Named Sue.*Laugh* I discovered several years back that it was Shel Silverstein that wrote it, which made me like it even more. Anyone who can write a children's poem like Shel Silverstein is my kind of writer. An example:

There's too many kids in this tub /there's too many elbows to scrub/ I just washed a behind/ I know wasn't mine/ there's too many kids in this tub.

By the way, Silverstein was a singer too, and you can find his stuff online.
