It comes but once a year, Why
This Season comes Every year
Expectations, joy and cheer
Aspirations glowing bright
Planning for the wondrous night

Generosity spreads its wings
Brings the Needy many things
Truly needed, compassion clear
Shows the Season’s warmth and cheer

Slowly as the Season spreads
Frustration, sadness fills our heads
Once fond hopes, they dissipate
Coldness starts to incubate

Somehow it is not the same
When the Season newly came
Life and living ground us down
Smiles replaced, now we frown

Just for some it still remains
They cast aside consumer pain
Joy, happiness, for special ones
Resonates til New Year comes

All once again to normal life
Return to stress, back to strife
Compassion takes a cold back seat
Few fine smiles for those we meet

The time has come to cast aside
“Tis the Season”, regain our pride
Not a Season, but all through the Year
We should make Goodwill and cheer
