Lives Echo

Lives echo.

Some, like a bullet

flung madly into the abyss.

Sharp and staccato,

like a shot in the dark.

Lives echo.

Some, like church bells

on a quiet misty morning.

Rich and resonant,

pealing across the land.

Lives echo.

Some, like a tidal wave,

roaring and foaming,

drowning their world in

a dreary veil of tears.

Lives echo.

Some, like a bird's song,

light and musical,

greeting the new dawn

on a wing and a prayer.

Lives echo.

Some, like an alarm,

clamorous and discordant,

shattering the security

of future generations.

Lives echo.

Some, like a mother's heartbeat,

nurturing and comforting,

teaching the lessons that

Lives echo.
