Contest flash fiction entry, just a quirky little amusement.
"I don't remember anything"

Laughing like a dangerous and hungry hyena was Reid’s younger brother, “Oh you are so dead now!” he cackled.

“Shut up Ronnie!” Ree screamed as she shakenly rounded on Reid, “I was gone for four hours – four!”

Reid tried to speak but Ree cut his attempt immediately.  “You had one job to do - watch Ronnie!  That was it!” her face frozen from the shock of horror she received when she walked in the door a few minutes earlier.

As she slowly walked through the battleground that was her kitchen, her breathing became funny and a glazed look swept over her.  Shell-shocked, she picked a broken eggshell off the wall and examined it as if she’d never seen one before. Slipping a little with each slow step she took, a random pea would fall on top of her head or the floor from the ceiling.  Her eye twitched as she surveyed sticky, foamy soda and whipped cream that was sprayed on her once clean walls and cabinets and had been dripping onto the floor.  The cereal that wasn’t stuck to the sticky stuff seemed crammed in every crevice she could see.

“Wh…Wh…Why?” she twitched in a kind of trance.

Knowing his mother would murder him anyway, he stiffened his resolve and gave the only answer a rebellious teenaged boy could give, "I don't remember anything."
