If you see three crows you are dead.
The phones kept ringing, nonstop for three days. Each one reporting the same strange sighting. Crows flooding into the town wave after wave. All gathering to the old church and orphanage, with no noise.
Ambrose Luckart opening the door of his office, rubbing his temples at the loud commotion in the office. "What in the hell is going on here?!" Glaring into the eyes of a short, plump, grey haired grandmother standing nose to nose with him.
"I's am and you gotta do somthin or you a goin to be dealin with a whole bunch of death, mist-a." Poking his chest.
Through gritted teeth Ambrose tried to safe face, "Who do you think you are?"
"None that matters." pushing past him to his office window. "Do ya see that? That is going to be given ya and us grief if you don't do sum ton."
Looking past her at the sea of blackness covering the town center. "And what does that have to do with death?" Clenching his fists behind his backs and pursing his lips.
"Have you not heard of the sayin about the crows and death? If you see 3 crows outside your window, it’s your warnin if you will, from the reaper himself. And there be more than one child in that orphanage and there be more than three crows."
"This is ridiculous. Get out!"
"Then death be on your head. You’ve been warned" Leaving without a second glance.
With her words echoing in his mind.
"Sir?" His secretary, holding the phone to her chest the cord extended as far as it could go. "Um..... Everyone in the orphanage is dead. We just got a call."
"WHAT?! Stop that woman."
"Sir, no one has been in your office all morning" backing up, eye brows furrowed.
