Material things.
M A T E R I A L S

We're all addicted to something that takes the pain away.
Day after day you reach for that blade,
or maybe even that bottle.
You roll up another and light it,
only because you're spirits can never feel high any other way.
You've got no where to turn,
but you're sinking to the bottom.

You find comfort in these material things just so you can deal with the pain.
You're stressed, and all you can think is what's next?
Which ways right, and which ways left?
So you smoke it down to ash, make another cut, and find yourself at the bottom of another bottle.

There's not much more you can do when you feel there's nothing left.
But you hang on, and stay strong.
And for what? The days are long, the nights appear longer.
They thought you we're doing better, but you’re not getting any stronger.

You think no one's going to react if you were gone, and people finally discover these material things you confine in.
They're the real demons, the ones you threw all your trust and time in.

Put down the lighter, and break the bottle.
Stop making new cuts and only look at the old scars to remind you about how far you have come.
Stay away from those material things, and realize how much your life could change.
