An guiding grandfather teaches a young teenager what encouragement means.
         (Sound of geese flying overhead)

GRANDFATHER

I like geese. When I was younger, I used to think their honking was annoying, but then I read somewhere the reason why they honk. See how they fly in a V shape? Well, I guess that's because the goose in front does most of the work, and the others behind him benefit from the airlift he creates... it's a physics thing. But they all honk to encourage the one in front to keep going, that he can do it, just a little farther...

After I read that, their honking wasn't annoying anymore. In fact, now I think it's a beautiful sound. Without encouragement, how can we fly?

Your parents' chiding may sound like annoying honking at the moment, but someday you'll realize they mean well. Some tasks that are good for you may be frustrating or difficult, but don't give up. One day, you'll appreciate that they honked for you.
