My poem for a contest entry
I heard it through the grapevine

That you were coming around again

How could you think you were still mine

All you make me want to do is give up on men

Like the Devil with a blue dress on

You are crazy and mean

Got me under cover like James Bond

Hiding from you to stay clean

You are my drug and my poison to

Stay away from me

Please Mr. Postman tell me when he’s coming through

Because without you I am free

I heard it through the grapevine

That you were comin to town

But you are out of my line

You face makes me frown

So goodbye for good

I don’t want to be your friend

Leave me alone like you should

This is your end

Your part of my story is over

No you can’t visit ever

So be a good little rover

See you a week after never
