Remind them of the fragility of human life. Remind them of theirs.
And when you receive abuse
from those who share the same flesh,
remind them of Al-Nakba,
of noisy children with smiles smeared with dirt,
of laughter during Iftaar in Ramadan,
of empty streets during prayer time,
of Umm Kalthoum,
of bustling markets,
of broken vases,
of taxi honks,
of Eidul Fitr,
of picnic by the sea.
Remind them of how
revolution changes countries
and wounds
are healed.
