A bit of a poem and a smile for today
She's a house cat that would like to roam
outdoors, way outside her comfy home.
She spends her time watching for birds,
going to each window, meowing words.

You would never think she is quite old,
she runs through the house, hot or cold.
She lets me know when the birds fly by
and she watches them with an evil eye.

I toss out bread crumbs for the birds,
they swoop down, no thanks in words.
In the early morning they start to sing,
then they fly off, Blue Jay on the wing.

The cat is a Jewel, and claims the name.
sometimes she drives me almost insane.
She is company for me, as older I get,
a sleepy companion that I have for a pet.

I watch the birdwatcher every day,
as she takes the time to run and play.
Time will tell whether we will survive
but for now we're happy being alive!
