I don't really write poetry so feedback would be great!
When you bestow me at the end of nights, echoing the days I've wasted

Or when you're there, symbolising the moments I never chased it

I still long for your bitter sweetness, so please be my friend.

Maybe it’s because when I felt trapped,

you were here, unlike others, though reminding me of my scrapes.

I don't have it in me or perhaps that's what I think, maybe I can fight this like movie heroes and finally be free.

Or maybe like other beings I'm optimistic for better things.

But then, why do I notice you more than other beings?

Is it because I'm more aware or just living with despair?

Darkness please be my friend! Don’t pull me down like so many of my friends.

When you're gone I'll be alone, the irony of that is wrong

So darkness please let’s make amends.
