The first poem I was ever proud of.
In a land of make believe
there lived a mighty knight
upon his stead with sword in hand
he filled his foes with fright

They'd run and hide up in the trees
avoiding the knights glance
then they'd jump down and run
as soon as they got a chance

The knight found pleasure in their fear
and watched them run away
until the knight rode into town
one late September day

He met a simple peasant girl
not much different from the rest
that's how come he couldn't say
why he liked her best

Her gray blue eyes and light brown hair
and silly little smile
made him want and need to stay
even for a while

He found himself up late at night
thinking about her
he knew he could never leave
this was for sure

He needed her like water
and knew she felt the same
they had loved each other ever since
the first day that he came

They decided that here was home
and that they'd never leave
wouldn't that be great Sir Knight
if that was you and me?
