A grief poem specific to one loss and kaleidoscoped to many, or to bittersweet life itself
Quietus

Fallen leaves are glued by rain
to the sidewalk today.
A not unfitting carpet to bear with us
and to carry us
to the grave:

not without color,
not without its own charm, but –
the fallen leaves are glued by rain
to the sidewalk today –

much like the palms, I wonder,
that day in Jerusalem?
