a poem created by taking lines from other poems I wrote
I need you because you’ve given me anchor
as I work, my mind spins words and worlds away
across the endless stars
.
I lose myself.
Realms of fantasy later,
hiding in the aftermath,
I burn with hidden fire,
ever darkly shining,
because of past hurts
striking without warning
. Then, I seek you.
Thinking of you smoothes rough edges—
catching me, setting me free.
You’ll find me there, save me.
I rest my head into your shoulder,
finding a typical day,
the time I need to heal.
Without you, I feel I am all flaw.
I lose myself.
Too much lies past the surface
of noise and motion
.
