bitter vine
your world turns
as history hides
for ancient reasons
there's no encore
stalks age quickly
poor grapes die
bitter vine
almost human
just like me

bitter vine
guided tendrils
must be frugal
dry stems scream
to grow beyond
a flower's wish
for crystal water
bitter vine
behind the tower
goes your life

bitter vine
divine truth
seeks out light
exploiting creepers
spears of power
reach for the sky
to save one's soul
bitter vine
find God's answer
far from home
