A visit to the street. an abecedarian poem
Add item to folder2106808

As a child I lived in this street
Been gone for many years
Cant believe the change of the environment
Disappointed at the first glance
Endless memories come flooding back
Forgotten happiness are long gone
Games we played on the playing field
Have made new changes that feel unreal
In place stand trees tall and grand
Just to give the street a better look
Kicking balls are out of bound
Looks from neighbours nagging all around
Making children's life a misery
No where but on the road to play
On the field we had such fun
Playing football and cricket runs.
Questions running through my head
Remembering fireworks and bon fire night
Standing in front of my old house
Transformation good, but is it right?
Very nice street now no playing field
Wondering how the children feel
No worries for the games have changed, and electronic is the rage.
