That which is repulsive.
Later, she would not regret her choice.
Sue chose a life which to embrace.
For years she heard one hateful voice;
a racist, hating-gay disgrace.

The name calling was clear and snide;
the N-word spewed with hocks of spit.
“Gays should be shot!” she’d blurt with pride--
There was no way to take that shit.

The threat of Hell declared with glee;
she made sure she’d include the Pope.
The judgments were for all to see;
such filthy rags in need of soap.

That disrespectful attitude;
her Bible held high overhead.
One bounty of ingratitude--
a shell of someone all but dead.

Sue doubted even Old Saint Nick
could clear the rafters of old pooh.
Yet oft one has to ditch the sick
since tolerance has limits, too.

It happened many years ago;
a cousin with a heart of black.
In arrogance her hate did show;
Sue walked away, did not look back.
