short story of someones life changing
I’m wearing my favorite coral pink shirt that was lace by Hollister and a white tank top underneath. I was wearing my kick boot American Eagle dark wash jeans, and my black converse. I had to dress nicely since this was a very big day. I was still on duty as a volunteer firefighter, so I had my radio clipped to my front right jean pocket. Rushing into Blue Mountain Union, my old high school, I got a wave of memories. I was now running to the gym which was 50 feet away from the front door, past the main office on the right, the stairwell to the stage on my left. right after the stairwell there were about 5 lockers and then the gym on the left. I walked in, and the principal was still talking. At least I wasn’t that late. I went down the the opposite side of the gym on the right to where my friends were sitting.

“YOU’RE LAAAAATTTTEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha” my friends said in unison.

As always, they were sitting at the top of the bleachers so I weaved my way up to them.

“I know, I know. Shut up!” I said in automatic response.

“And now, please welcome the Avengers!” Announced the principal. Everyone was standing now, cheering and wolf- whistling. Our school had so much spirit, how I survived, I do not know. All the avengers were at the podium in the middle of the gym now, with Tony Stark speaking. Ugh, why did I even come to this thing anyways? It seemed so stupid, I honestly didn’t even go here. Yeah I’m seventeen which means that I’d still be in high school, but I’m not. I have two weeks until I graduate from college, so really this doesn’t have any affect on me.

“Now, to announce the two people who have earned this award. As always, ladies first.” Tony Said. Oh God, this is going to be a disaster. One of the popular girls are going to get called and everyone's going to be like ‘wooo hooo!! who could’ve seen that one coming?’

“Caleigh Severide, come down here please.” Said Tony. I was completely blanking until Josh and Jacob screamed “GO CALEIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I got up and walked down casually, I still had no idea what was going on. “Am I in trouble?” I asked.

“I don’t know, have you done something that would get you in trouble?” asked Tony.

“More likely what Tweedledee and Tweedledum over there did, I was just involved.” I replied.

“Ha ha, well you’re not in trouble, just getting an award.” Said Tony.

“Oh, cool.” I replied.

“And now, would Jason Walker please come down.”

Great, just another Jock. Nobody saw that coming (sarcasm). I knew it’d be someone popular, but I didn’t think that I would get picked.
