God is in the details
Apparently, I have to write. I don't know how I know that a certain time means stopping to write things down, but it's so.

Here I am. You need to take me as you find me tonight; I didn't do much today. Let's look at that. First, the standard things: I showered, dressed, ate, fed animals, and generally pulled myself together. I attended bible study. This gospel is tough. There's a lot of material to grasp. Good grief, every sentence in the book makes some point or other. Sometimes, more than one point. I'm really challenged by this gospel. You know, the word gospel means good news. Because there's so much in John, we have to dig deeper to get it all out. But the deeper into the text we go and the more we tease out meanings and nuances, the better the "good news" becomes. The more we understand God through what is written, the more amazing He shows himself to be.

For example, let's look at creation. As a Christian, I believe that God created everything. That belief covers a lot of ground, but it's nebulous to imagine in detail. Imagine trying to imagine the development of everything physical in your body. The hair on your legs, the enamel on your teeth, and the cuticles in your fingernails. It's a bit boggling when you add detail.

Earth, our home, is another example. We are 93 million miles from the sun. If we were closer, the heat would be too great and if we were farther away it would be too cold. The moon is placed in a way that doesn't create massive waves. Because of the tilt of earth's axis, we have the maximum sunlight available. A massive swath of land can grow crops. Looking at these details, I am in awe. God is truly amazing.
