A little bit more on the emotional side of not wanting to lose someone you love.
Forget Me Not

Is it sad to think that you won't remember me,
just another piece in your distant memory?
Even though you say you won't forget,
I can only see myself fading bit by bit.

Although I can see distance growing with every hour,
I haven't the same courage of a flower.
To yell "forget me not" and grab your attention,
with words I've failed to mention.

Words that make me feel shame,
because I’m not sure if you feel the same.
Words like “I love you” or “will you be mine?”
and I don’t know how long I have till I run out of time.

Please try to remember me, even if I have no name.
A simple thought would do just the same.
In your memory please leave me a spot,
for that poem I wrote entitled, "Forget me not".
