Love is confusing!
Some of your belongings are strewn around my room,
You said you were going to come back soon,
The last time I saw you was three weeks ago,
You don't have to tell me you're avoiding me - I know.

We only communicate by text,
But even so your behavior leaves me perplexed,
You've read my messages, I know for a fact
So when you don't reply - what are you playing at?

Some days you talk to me endlessly,
Lavishing your attention on me entirely,
Other days I don't even get a hello,
Instead of a friend, I feel like a foe.

You're the first person I've let in in a while,
With your beauty, wit and charm you had me beguiled,
But now I cry more than I smile,
I wonder if it is all worthwhile.

I feel your rejection every day,
You reach out only when you have something to say,
I've made so many excuses for you, but, hey,
I think it is now time to walk away.
