A day to enjoy... what would I do?
A kaleidoscope of choices
Flickers through my mind
But I know,
No matter what...
My formula for success and enjoyment
Is to get myself away from the house;
No random chores for me.
No set schedule.
I will cavort with the outside world.
I drive out to a small town
Elora, St. Jacobs, Elmira...
Close to the city
But far enough to feel the freedom
And unrestraint of time and responsibility.
I will walk the trials that carve into natural landscapes
Sit and meditate by the banks of a gentle river
Eat my lunch in the sunny fresh air.
Wander through shops
Gaining ideas for my own creative outlets
And let time escape the hatches
I will not return home
Until darkness descends
And the town rolls in its carpets
To sleep for another night.
