Anticipating good news takes patience
I'm waiting for word on the house. It's Sunday; we saw the house Friday afternoon and made an offer that night. We offered the full asking price, plus paying the closing costs. Our realtor and the owner's listing agent like this offer, and now we wait. The owners are living in Seattle, a three hiur time difference from here, and they are being slow to respond. Our agent thinks they aren't aware they need to be able to be contacted. I think they may be slow to check their e-mail. Whatever the story is, I want an answer. Preferably, now.

We've wanted to move for years; when we rented this house, we knew it would be our residence---it's not homelike---until our sons finished high school. We have played " In our next house" for years now. "In the next house there will..."

Be a dishwasher
Be gas instead of electric
Be more storage
Be a garage
Be a bigger, better-maintained driveway
Be no bats in the attic
Be an outside water tap
Be no broken windows
Be no holes in the roof
Be no leaking pipes
Be outside doors that close
Be bedrooms with functional doorknobs
Be floors that aren't warped

Now we are waiting for an answer. I know this is the house for us. I know we will move in, and I know we belong there. I could be packed by the end of this week. But I still have to wait. *Sigh*
