Sarah works at a toystore, but something isn't right. I need to know if this is good.
Sarah had been working at the toy store for some time now, and something wasn't right. Mainly because the employees acted so strange, like they were traumatized, and needed counselling. But it was also the toys, young children didn't notice - or maybe it was her hyperactive mind, but the toys stared at her. She found wherever she stood in the store, the barbie was staring at her, but even more odd, every time she went home, a crackling thunderstorm had came out of nowhere.
She should have quit while she could, but in the rural parts of Montana, jobs were almost impossible to find.
Her family didn't have enough money, her mother being a waitress at a high end restaurant, and her father, a schoolteacher. And when the job opened up for the toy store, Sarah was eager to take it. Little did she know, she was getting into powerful forces she couldn't control.
Chapter one: Overtime
Sarah was working overtime. Mainly because she had nothing else to do, but also because she had came to find out the history of the toy store, and why she got her job for almost $30.00 an hour. This was the perfect time to do so, because only a few of her co-workers were here. She was the curious sort, and she knew that she could extract the answers from the attentionless co-workers, but she would have to ask the right questions.
She casually walked up to Hannah, the co-worker who seemed the least distant, and (she dared to say) friendly.
"So." She began. "Who worked here before I came?"
"There was this wierd ol' man, he was always lookin' like he was searchin' for somethin'." Hannah said.
Well, that was a start. She tried another question.
"What happened to him?"
"They say it was a gul' durn heart attack. But I know that man was to fit. Even brought a protein shake to work almost every day. Most of us think he had a heart attack." Then she whispered words that would later save her life. "But I... I.. think he was murdered. Don't know why, don't know how, but that's my gut feelin'. And my gut never lies."
