No one can get away from highs and withdrawals.
It's not much different from your average dose, the feeling is actually, genuinely close.

But it's not something you take for fun, not something to make you grab a gun.

It affects your view, your purpose, the feeling is pure, an undeniable service.

It gives the highest high, that much is true, but it also does so much, to taint your view.

The withdrawal is hard, yes it's the worst, makes you feel as if, you're alone in a hearse.

So what is this drug, that feels so good, yet feels the worst, the worst a drug could?

It's something everyone has, it's involuntary, to give you a hint, you'll want to marry.

Yes, you guessed right, the drug, it is love, delivered to you so soft, from above.

You're tied to this person, seemingly forever, and when you must part, it's quite the endeavor.

You wish they could stay, rather than part, the metaphor is old, but broken, is your heart.

The high is the same, everyone smiles, but the withdrawal is too, lonely for miles.

Only this person, this magical mate, could give you your fix, like a big wooden crate.

So you long for their warmth, the soothe in their voice, and you want only to be, their personal choice.

But no, as I said, you don't get to choose, love is a drug, but not something to use.

Though love is secret, locked in a purse, there is no escape, from this beautiful curse.
