A poem for all you authors with characters and stories and entire worlds in your head.
I wonder how one can live in two worlds
I pretend to speak, to grow, to live in one
I want to share it with the other

I hear songs of my own imagining
I see faces I have created
I feel their joy, freedom

I am imaginative, I am afraid
I try to share my little world
I touch the keyboard, fingers fly
I cry that I have limits
I worry I can’t express it

I understand they do not live
I say they live in my heart
I hope they will live in the hearts of others

I dream they will live
