A birthday poem to my husband of thirty years.
For Thirty Years

I didn't know how to play,

then, I didn't know how to live.

So I followed you for thirty years.

From Alaska to Mexico, cities we explored on foot.

Moving through the years together

until now we're old;

Still we offer each other comfort along the way.

Moving, hand in hand towards an unknown

we hope to control, at least a bit, with our thinking.

Ah dreams! Oh Hopes!

I smile at our unending courage,

our persevering spirits.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart

With love, Nancy
