Continuing the story after The Being
There once was a people who lived on a rock
that hurtled through the emptiness of space
as they traveled around, they built small towns
and lived with peaceful grace

They would visit each other with gifts of wealth
and share their tales from the day
they laughed as they spoke, of evil they joked
and went abroad doing what they may

The direction the rock went as it floated about
changed path by the souls of all
as joy went abound, the rock drifted around
any obstacles that would prove their fall

The people went about making beautiful arts
like glassware, paintings and clothes
they surrounded themselves on their desks and their shelves
with the wares of glory they chose

Their mayor was a man of gleeful countenance
as he helped all of those he could
he visited the ill, with the farmers he tilled
as he went about doing good

One being on the rock who hid itself
crept closer for further review
eyes dark with spite as black as the night
and its hatred for all of them grew

The being began plotting in dastardly ways
as it observed the dealings of Them
it found out their plans to the very last man
until each of them were condemned

On a glorious day more joyful than the rest,
the Festival of the Star began
the people would dance in their marvelous pants
and through the streets, the children ran

The Festival was had at times
when the rock drifted close to a star
they would shout and sing as their voices would bring
the rock to turn its path afar

A certain boy strayed away from his group
to relieve his bodily needs
he was grabbed by hands like the desert sands
and was used as wondrous feed

The boy returned to the playful bunch
as they were skipping over a crack
they never did see through the boy's feigned glee
at his teeth that were colored black

Two festivalgoers went to gather wood
for a fire around which they would dance
at the bottom of the crack, they noticed the pack
of the children who stood no chance

Heads bowed, they returned to their mayor
and informed him the sorrowful news
A tear down his cheek as his knees felt weak
for the children they had to lose

"As tragic this is, we cannot lament
until the festival draws to a close
restrain this tale lest their faces grow pale
and our rock begins to feel woe."

The two returned to their homes afar
as the people started the flame
they brought out flags made of colorful rags
and waved them on poles to a game

The mayor gazed out at the people he loved
as he tried to bring himself cheer
he looked to his chief and noticed black teeth
as his eyes met several dark leers

A scream rang out and his blood ran cold
as he looked for the source of the sound
a man was impaled on the flagpole they hailed
as his blood started covering the ground

The grisly flagpole was raised up high
by a man with a grin black as night
more poles he grabbed as he proceeded to jab
as the people yelled with fright

One group of men grabbed a few of the folks
and carried them into the blaze
their screams rose high as many of them died
as the air filled with putrid haze

The mayor stood still, petrified with fear
as his people were slaughtered and burned
a man with a grin as dark as sin
walked up to him and his stomach churned

The man turned around and gazed at the sky
and the mayor followed his look
his eyes grew wide with fear he could not hide
as he fell to his knees and shook

The man crumbled to dust and blew away
as the mayor's eyes drew far
he bid farewell to the life he knew well
as the rock plunged into the star.
