bad news prompt
without regret prompt
no regret
When the day turned Gray
By: Johnny Bubba

I’ll never forget when they told me bad news
It was enough to give me the blues
Tears filled my swollen eyes
And the news I did despise
He was taken far too young
He was shot by an automatic gun
This boy of thirteen
Think of the life he’s never seen
In the coffin where he lay
On this very darkened day
I reach down and kiss his cheek
I recall him, he was always meek
Sweet and kind
It blows my mind
To think he has gone away
Into Heaven, where he’ll stay.
His sister places a bear on his grave
His mother cries, why couldn't she save
He lived his life without regret
and he, no one, will ever forget.
