Poem about nature's language.
Listen, Listen

I listened to the trees today, learning
silence is often the only answer,
solace sought is from within
whims and clues divine.

I listened to the trees today, hearing
lessons learned from raptors ripping and rolling,
riding and rafting in the Spirit,
bold and brazen.

I listened to the trees today, seeing
naught of nature’s brawn, but greening youth
entwined in Hawthorne’s lessons,
taught and borne.

I listened to the trees today, sensing
seasons spring wrestling Winter’s sleep,
showering silver and strengthening vines,
veiled and veined.

With the woodpecker’s rap, rap, rapping
Grandfather’s song, rhythm and tune,
‘Listen, Listen’
