A strong Spring breeze can cause a lot of trouble. Especially during a rescue operation.

Spring Encounters

Jamie cocked his hand weapon after examining it at eye level. He swatted just instead a wooded area. Beyond that wooded area there was a large clearing. Within that clearing a small building stood in the center of it. That building didn’t look big enough to hold anything more than a few supplies. So why were there two armed uniformed individuals, one male and the other female, on top of it. Two other couples walked around that clearing. One right next to that building. And the other closer to the wooded area.

After glancing over his shoulder Jamie put a finger to his lips signaling three others to slowly, but quickly, move forward. Nora was the first to join Jamie. A few seconds later Patrick and Wendy joined them. As soon as Nora got there she took the rifle hanging off her back. And started using the scope on it to zero in on each one of the uniforms – one at a time.

A strong Spring breeze kept flapping the leaves in front of Nora. Those leaves, and branches, kept the four of them hidden from the couple. But it also prevented Nora from checking out the uniforms with her scope too. She had no trouble with the two on the building. Even the ones near the wooded area weren’t any problem – except for when they were on the other side of that building. But the two near that building were a big one because they were using the building shadows to cover their movements.

Nora could still scope them out too. But it was a lot harder to do. That’s all she did though. Nora kept her finger on the trigger. She even appeared to be ready to fire it six times. But she didn’t do it.

An armed uniformed individual walking down a long corridor just got his neck snapped. He died before he slid down the wall he fell against. Just as his life ended he looked at his killer. It was another uniform individual.

Toni did a quick scan of that corridor in both directions. Then she headed for a door in the center of that corridor after bending down to first check to make sure he was dead then snap his rifle in half like it was a trig. She hugged the walls with her back as she did it.

When Toni got to that door she returned the weapons she had in her hands to her hips. She kept glancing in both directions every few seconds as she took some plastic explosives out of her pocket and placed it on the door handle. A few seconds later a loud explosion opened that door. Toni barely hugged the wall on the opposite of it before the explosion happened.

As soon as that door was opened Toni grabbed her guns and rushed into a large room by using her foot against what remained of the door. Toni didn’t need her weapons. One uniform laid dead near the door. And Hector stood over her body. Huddled together in the far side of that room stood about fifty little girls ranging in age from eight to thirteen.

Hector gestured for the kids to leave that room. The kids ran for that door. They followed Toni down the corridor toward a steep set of stairs leading up to a single door. Hector took up the rear. He kept his eyes, and weapons, pointed behind him as he ran out of that building too.

Toni hugged the outside of that building as the kids came out – and ran toward the wooded area as fast as they could. The Spring breeze made that difficult. Patrick and Wendy gestured them to continue running as the kids passed them.

Jamie and Nora were now on the roof of that building. The two uniform individuals laid dead next to them. Nora and Jamie glanced at each individual dead body that was in that clearing as the kids headed for safety. Patrick, Wendy, Jamie and Nora took out the dozen or so uniforms that came rushing out of that building.
