Some advice for my younger self
Flamenco Sunset

Horizon points will vanish
The journey goes so fast
With flamenco moons so Spanish
Strumming in the past
Thrumming through the night sky
That wild shooting star
A siesta at the right time
Exotic, dreamed afar
We learn to rest at exits,
to follow the right beats
Trust the way our heart sits,
as minds take a back seat
For the journey is a long one
Yet over far too quick
Regrets can make the soul run
To places where it sticks
Mired in the shadows,
in the doubts… what could have been?
Bound up in the narrows
Lost in what it’s seen
Viewed but not enacted
A narrator to its play
Repelled from things attracted…
Let the nature hold its sway
Cause this road, it is a long one,
on a Spanish wind its blown
We’re all strangers ‘neath the same sun
… Why journey it alone?
