The story of an Anchor lost.
Crown and Anchor

*Crown*

A boat casts anchor riding out the storm.
The northern wind picked up and starts to blow.
Her crew pulled down the hatches, rain clouds form.
Its anchor dug in, caused the Crown to slow.

She came to halt and they're thrown to and fro.
So far from shore but still inside the bay.
Shot flares into the night cause reddish glow.
A crewman at the comm; message relay.

The Captain hoped they live another day.
When batteries die, situation vain.
A tug left from port and bobbed through swells,
then saved her from the sinking stress mayday.

A crewman hooked on with a strap and chain.
There was no other choice the Captain took,
but cut the anchor leaving it behind.
When job was done it sunk lost to the depths........

Where no one would look.....
and no one could find.
