One lover speaking to another
Written for "Invalid Item"  with the prompt "Knock First"

Knock First
Before you enter my heart
That’s the polite thing to do.
But you
Just barged right in
Without concern for how
I might feel about things.

And now
How can I go on
Without you?
Don’t leave me now—
Leave me never
For now my heart’s door has
Closed once again
With you inside.
