Ramblings from early evening
[Introduction]
So my first writing. Where do I start and what do I say. I’ve wanted to write since I was very young but for some reason never did. I was a technical writer at one point in my career but what I really wanted was to write something exciting like Harry Potter or Outlander. I would sit down and just look at the paper and all of a sudden there would be a hundred other things I needed to be doing right then so off I would go and nothing ever happened. And now as I sit here there is this fear in the pit of my stomach and a voice saying you can’t do this. But the fear is so strong it is a very interesting thing actually. I think I have a very analytical brain (hence the technical writing position) and that is part of what stops the creative process for me.

If I sit here now and close my eyes and drift away listening to the music will the words start to flow do you think? I see a woman riding down the road on a motorcycle. It’s a beautiful sunny morning. Blue sky over head. She feels so free as the trees zip past and she feels the power of the engine beneath her. A very wild and freeing sensation. She is free to be alive in this moment and doesn’t have to think of anything else. She passes another biker and raises her hand in the traditional greeting. Yes it is good to be alive this day. The roads here have very little traffic so she is safe to let her attention drift just a little as she smells the orange blossoms in the air passing through orange groves. There is not anything quite like that scent in the cool early morning air.
