on-line chatting is exciting, yet.....
We had been chatting on-line
for more than two months to date
she was a girl about twenty three
from Colombo the capital of Taprobane

the chatting went on very nicely
we seemed to like each other dearly
our friendship bloomed exceedingly
and we chatted very imprecisely

one day she simply told me
that she would like to meet me
can you please come to the public library
she asked me pleadingly

how can I refuse I wonder
a good invitation from a nice girl
I fingered the key-board 'ok baby'
and agreed upon a date in future

last Sunday all of my family had gone
somewhere leaving me and my sister at home
I was in my room chatting as usual
to my on-line sweetheart if I say so dear

the postman rang the bell and I went to get the mail
telling my on-line lass to 'wait a moment dear'
at the same time my sister went to the storeroom
I thought maybe for a glass of beer

soon after collecting the letters
I was putting them on the writing table
when I had a brief look at sister's tablet
it screamed the words ' wait a moment dear'
