A poem about the walls of a lively home.
Cream Colored Paint

There's this tub
Full of cream colored paint,
And it means nothing.
But it's very pretty
And she isn't putting in the kitchen
Like she'd planned.
It's going to be on the lively walls
of the little living room.

Cream colored paint.
It means nothing.
But suddenly
It doesn't just watch meals be prepared
Or eaten
Or cleaned up.
Suddenly it watches babies grow
And fights fizzle into hugs
And the beautiful people dance.
Suddenly
Cream colored paint
Means something.
Suddenly
Cream colored paint
Is safety
And happy
And memory
And love.

There's this tub
Full of cream colored paint.
And oh, how it means
Something.
