A Poem about the city
Living in the City
By Jacqueline L Williamson

Living in the city, has its ups and downs
Moving on the transit, in and out of town

Living in the city, running here and there
Wishing for a lifestyle, free from every care

Living in the city, not much time for play
Always busy working, what a hectic day

Living in the city, planning for the night
Looking for an outfit, making everything right

Living in the city, dinner is at eight
Waiting for that someone, what again he’s late

Living in the city, love and then goodbye
Meeting someone different, holding back a sigh

Living in the city, nowhere else to go
Watching that old time clock, man it moves so slow

Living in the city, never want to part
Knowing that the city, has stolen my poor heart.
