Every year in autumn
folks think about October.
Halloween is coming soon,
they wonder what they'll wear.

A spooky costume is what they want,
a ghost or goblin they must decide.
Maybe a monster with a bloody hand
or a zombie with mouth opened wide.

The fun is in the trick-or-treating folks
who fill their bags with candy galore.
The shrieks of others at their creation
will make them want to scare even more.
