A poem questioning what love is.
If love were the universe, what planet would you be?
If love were hurt, would you feel pain?
If love were sight, could you see?
If love were real; it'd be me!
Sexual stimulation, mental mediations or physical situations...what really is love?
What is love if it has limitations and obligations? What is the purpose of love if it hurts to trust and burns to touch? Could love be real? Or is it simply physical sex appeal? Can you love me continuously? Without jealousy or misery?
Without beating me or verbally controlling me?
See, I once thought I knew love. Once long ago.
Must've just been pain wearing an ugly façade that fooled me time and time again.
Now I realize that love was never my friend!
Love, what must I do to befriend you? Why must I always be the receiver of your pain?
Always leaving me cold and in the rain!
This love thing is driving me insane!
Love, I thought you were supposed to stop the pain!
It yet remains-nothing has changed!
I'm still the same.
Alone, desolate, and alienated.
Confused,misused,abused.
Love has let me down once too many times.
I refuse to love or be loved again.
Love was never my friend!
