Someone once told me that I should die for speaking as I do, writing as I feel I must.

Under
A tree
So
It seems
Buried deep
I’m here
Deceased
Killed
Taken away
Two
In the head
One
In the face
Personal
Indeed
To be defended
What a mess
A stain upon
The essence
Of who we are
And what we
Should be doing
Some say
Not me
That I got
Without question
What I deserved
To them I’d say
If I wasn’t mute
Bullshit
To be defended
I
Just like them
Just like my killer
God’s creation
Via damnation
An abomination
Of his brilliance
Children of sin
Time and again
Doing
What must be done
To each other
To all else
Creatures
Beast really
Less human
More animal
Capable of most
Circumstance alone
Defines the precipice
The edge is only there
Because we decide so
To be defended
Taken seriously
When many aren’t
The gift of a poet
Is the curse of life
Because living like this
Like I once did
Made irrelevant
By the voices
Calling back to me
Saying your words
Are poison
And your mind
Is toxic
You should die
For thinking as such
Two
In the head
One
In the face
To be defended
In life
As well as in death
These words remain
To speak for me
As intended
As envisioned
Do what you must
What you will
But you cannot escape
The nature
Of such meaning
The causality
Of such an existence…
