Collaborative poem for Rising Stars
Collaborative poem written with Naveed for "Retired Founder, Rising Stars Program. Naveed's lines are in red and mine are in blue.

People say that they forget
but do they really know
that to forget is to forget
and have nothing left to show?

Forgetting is tough
it's not a mere excuse
but people use it as a bluff
a fine paid for their overdues.

Left my fingers in my gloves,
forgot I put them there.
Then I bought a dozen doves,
forgot and got twelve more to spare.

It's hard to look like a winner,
I buy sugar instead of rice.
One day I went out to dinner,
and ended up paying twice

I brush my teeth twice a day
then brush them six more times,
I took my cat in for a spay,
then did it three more times.

Forgetting is not a bliss,
it's no drink of limes.
You understand what forgetting is,
when you forget nursery rhymes.
