An entry for January's "Write Me a Lipogram" contest
There once was a maid named Yvonne
Who always kept the light on.
No matter the hour,
Light burned in her tower.
Through midnight, even til dawn.

A sleepless young man named Gaston
Wondered why that light was kept on .
He climbed up the tower
To see the great power
That burned there through midnight to dawn.

That pow’r so enchanted Gaston
That he stayed there through midnight to dawn.
He held on to the tower,
Watched the maid in her bower
And the walls she glowed brightly upon.

Gaston then let out a great yawn
Which startled the glow-maid Yvonne.
And in one solid hour,
No light burned in her tower
And down toppled sleeping Gaston.
