A song idea that came to me one day, so I decided to share it.
I remember when Karen came to me,
Tears running down her cheek.
I was busy, had no time for her,
She understood and left me be.

Broken, beaten, berated,
That's what's Karen felt,
That night, and the nights before.

Break me down,
Beat me, break me, insult me.
I'm tougher than all the rest.
Break me down,
But I will, I will,
I will get back up.

It was a Saturday when John called me,
Telling me of the incident.
Hysteric thoughts rushed through my head,
Was this my fault?

As I drove, breaking certain limits,
My thoughts turned to Karen.
Kind, polite, innocent, creative.
Those are just a few ways to describe my friend.

Break me down,
Beat me, break me, insult me.
I'm tougher than all the rest.
Break me down,
But I will, I will,
I will get back up.

Karen was only seventeen,
When she took the plunge.
John was only forty-five,
When he lost his daughter.
I was just as young,
When I refused to help my friend.

Break me down,
Beat me, break me, insult me.
I'm tougher than all the rest.
Break me down,
But I will, I will,
I'll get back up.

Break me down,
Beat me, break me, insult me.
I'm tougher than all the rest.
Break me down,
But I will, I will,
I'll get back up.
