My first attempt at a sonnet.
Far from here the light does shine a new day
On that maiden and her tragic fortune
She can not pin down just which words to say
Teasing and taunting secret endorphins

She sings a song as sweet as the lyre
Her grace, her beauty, her evolution
Seduced and sedated low in the mire
A game to her, a sad institution

Many a man and many a poor soul
Forgotten, forsaken, under duress
Once cheery and bright, innocent and whole
Now with a vacancy deep in their chest

This game everlasting only she plays
The conquered and victim with her shall stay
