A poem about Alzheimers
It is her birthday today
89 she thinks
A lovingly wrapped gift
sits on her lap
A perfectly folded bow on top
pondering over this mystery bx
she wonders who it is for.

Is it someone's birthday?
Cheerful reminders emanate
from her family.
Her grandchildren clamber
at her feet.

Wrapping undone
she stares, perplexed
A celebration maybe?
as she carefully re-wraps
her memories.
