A Husband and his sick wife


Calm faces bleached by light
Limpid smiles as dense as water
Life and her daughter
Each day resolved for yet another fight
Another win, another mile
A summer's twilight to be savoured
Yet another languorous while
To feast love's labour and sweet repast
To long delay the coming of the night
In whose direction
All of us are cast.
