Ashen Halls

Unlike a photo in the sun
my mem’ry of you doesn’t fade.
What’s happened cannot be undone.
Indifference is a charade.

Condemned to walk these ashen halls,
to relive all the might-have-beens,
I’m trapped within my mem’ry’s walls
and tortured for a lover’s sins.
