Melancholy but bearable
my life is measured in sunsets

my life is measured in sunsets,
gold, purple, and red,
spattered paints
Patterned on a palette.

it is drawn in your eyes,
brown, deep, and clear,
refracted back against my
memory's frozen frames,

and poured out upon you.

your silhouette shade is
drawn and bowed, pulled tight;
wrapped across the plate glass window of us.
these days stand still.

our moons crossed together
as one white light,
a path bathed across
the ocean of our life,

till our beams fade;
our eyes dull;
and we are finally:

us.
